First DT work for Simply Scrapping

I am so excited to be doing more DT work and this is different for me, It is all about sketches with one thing different Judy throws in a twist. I LOVE THAT!!! You will find lots of great sketches every Wednesday on the Simply Scrapping Blog with examples from our great and talented Design Team.
I love to work with sketches and these two were alot of fun.

This is Sketch #75
**Layout twist is to use one black and white photo and two coloured photo's. I love how this turned out.

Here is the sketch

Here is my example... Meet Maya Monks

This is what I used- black card stock from Michaels Crafts, all papers are from Sassafrass, large letters are from Sassafrass, small letters are from MM, Flowers are from Fred She Said Digital stamps, Monkey and journaling Stamps are from Unity Stamp Company.

This is card Sketch #75

**Card Twist: Must use Black or white as base for card and 2 other paper colors either solid or print but Black or white must be the base color for the card

Here is my example... Mr & Mrs.

This is what I used, card stock is from Michaels crafts, paper is from MAMBI wedding collection, stamps are all Unity Stamp Company.

Now go to the blog and check out the rest of the team, it would be great to join in the fun to win that great prize.

December Daily 2009.. basic book is DONE!!!

Now this took a couple of days to just get the basic book together and I love it already, I won't be working on it until December 1st now , so I have packed it away in some plastic waiting to be opened in less than a month.
Most of the album is Jolly by Golly papers by Cosmo Cricket,Grandma's Christmas Soup papers by Jillibean soup, some Scenic Route I got in the summer, Stamping Up and Michaels Cardstock, the two decorative chipboard pages that I painted white and adhered glitter foam snowmen and trees, just for some bling pages. I got some Transparencies from MAMBI wedding collection paper pad, cut them down to size to fit.
Now it will be easy just to take my photo, print it off and journal, I don't think there will be too much embellishments added to the papers, I wanted more journaling this year, I am hoping to type it out and just stick it to the papers, my handwriting is not too great. So here is the album. Hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think?

Happy Scrappin'

December Daily... making envelopes

Today I made these envelopes, just four different ones, plain cardstock with different christmas words and saying on the front, Ali Edwards digital designs, you can find these at Designer Digitals I just printed them off on cardstock and punched it out. I wanted four different styles and colours matching the papers inside, did some stitching with my machine in red thread. added some tree brads that I had from last year. I think they look good and will come in handy for extra journaling that I want to be hidden or photo's. I also had these grommets that I am adding to some of my pages and book cover, I love my crop- a- dile, best tool ever.
Sydney wanted to be on my blog today so I took a photo with her and the envelopes. She is under the weather but from the photo you would never tell that she is all stuffed up and has a runny nose.
Happy creating and have a great day!!

December Daily.. getting organized

I know it is early to be showing anything to do with Christmas but I just had to start on my December Daily at the beginning of this month, better to be organized than be frustrated during the busiest season of the year.
All last week I have been gathering my supplies that I have on hand, I want to make as much as possible from what I have in my stash. I have been purchasing papers and kits the last couple of months just for this album, I am so excited to be doing this for the second year with Ali Edwards and the group on Flicker, right now there are over 250 of us joined in creating our own version of the December Daily. It is so exciting to see everyone's albums.

On November 1st I put the front and back covers together, Using Jolly by Golly kit that I purchased at wescrap, some bling and pearls from the local Dollarama, what a great place to find these. All colours and lots of different styles of bing. Love that!!!

Today, November 2nd I wanted to make some Daily Date Number Tags. Out of the same Jolly by Golly papers I used my scalloped punches and cut the shapes I wanted, cut some small squares in red , white, and black and this is where I will place the number of that day in December. I really like how this turned out. I might have to go find more numbers. something different,or print some out in different fonts.

Daily Date Number Tags

I am hoping later today ,seeing that it is still early that I can make some decorative envelopes. I am waiting for Ali to post her album on her blog, she is doing this today, the bare bones of it but I am so excited for this already. I am hoping to post something new every day for you to come out and check , maybe to get excited about the up coming season, make a album yourself or for a family member. It is the one thing that I love to do and have been waiting for since the summer. If you are doing one as well leave a link in the comments and we can share back and forth. I would love to see your creations too.

Happy Monday!!
